Daniel Higgins

Daniel's musical journey started back in 1996 when catching a glimpse of a country guitarist on television. The artist unknown to Daniel at the time was the world famous Albert Lee. Since that day he was fixated in wanting to be a guitarist, so for his 7th birthday his father brought him his very first guitar. He began lessons at his school but quickly excelled past the standard of others. It was evident that this was not just a phase but the beginning of a journey that he wouldn't look back on!

Being a shy little boy with no confidence to perform Daniel's parents wanted to encourage their son, so at 8 years old Daniel's father began taking him to local jam sessions around his hometown, Northamptonshire, where he would sit in the corner watching and listening to other musicians perform. Daniel finally mustered up the confidence and at the Queens Head, Higham Ferrers, 1998 he made his first appearance in the spotlight performing his very own song "Rainbow".

A few years on having played all over the world with many a musician gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience Daniel had quickly became an extremely accomplished young musician himself. With his unique country style of playing, farm boy look and redneck attitude the "Cowboy" as he is now known is the newest member to join the band starting another new chapter in the Donnybrook Fair story...
Country music isn't just music to me, its a way of life. I live it, breath it. It keeps me grounded in the crazy world we live in. Donnybrook Fair are a part of that life. We are not only a band but a family. We look out for one another and support each other. I feel very lucky and honoured to have been so fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful, talented bunch of people. Long may our success continue! ”
